Meet the amazing cast and crew that brings Imaginary Theater Company to life!  We are always looking for new characters of all ages to welcome into our creative family.  Stay tuned for audition notices and invitations to collaborate!

Starry Krueger

Founder, Artistic Director

Starry is a playwright, teacher and director.  Her plays include The Boat, Mama Threw Me So High, He Who Speaks, Dream Train and Canary Cockroach Phoenix.  She received her Bachelor of Science in Theater from Skidmore College and her Master of Science in Elementary Education from the University of New Haven.   Starry has worked as a teaching artist and director with the Missoula Children’s Theater, Drama Kids International and San Diego Junior Theater.  She is a proud member of the Dramatist's Guild, TYA/USA and the California Educational Theater Association.  She currently lives in San Diego, where she directs the theater program at High Tech Elementary.

Amanda is a teacher and a theater enthusiast!  She has been with Imaginary Theater Company since the very beginning.  Her credits include The Boat, Mama Threw Me So High, She Who Speaks, Dream Train and Canary Cockroach Phoenix. Amanda is a 4th grade teacher in the Naugatuck Public School system and has a B.A. in Psychology and a M.A. in Elementary Education.  In her spare time, she can be found hiking, listening to podcasts and doing yoga!

Aija Covington

Actor

Aija is a hard worker and is full of life.  She has received awards throughout her school year for enthusiasm, leadership, respect and attendance, just to name a few.  Aija first found her love for the stage at the age of seven while starring in the original production of The Boat as Marina, a role which she reprised in the 2019 production.  She also played Scout in Dream Train and Emerald in Canary Cockroach Phoenix.  She enjoys being a big and little sister, dancing, friends and family and swimming.

Alana Covington

Actor

Alana is a go getter, following in her big sister Aija's footsteps.  After watching for a few years, Alana decided it was her time to take the stage!  She played Chalcedony in Canary Cockroach Phoenix and Ida in The Boat.

Andrew Gryniewicz

Actor

Andrew is an actor/singer/dancer based in New York City. He has performed all over the country and is so excited to be joining Imaginary Theater Company.  Andrew played Father/Chalcedony in the 2020 virtual performance of Canary Cockroach Phoenix.  When not performing, Andrew enjoys doing yoga, hanging out with friends, and watching Netflix.

Ariana Valdes

Actor

Ariana originated the role of Dawn in Imaginary Theater Company’s 2018 production of Dream Train and played Mother/Emerald in the 2020 virtual performance of Canary Cockroach Phoenix. NORTH AMERICAN TOURS: The Sound of Music, My Fairy Lady. OFF-BROADWAY: The Green Room. REGIONAL: In the Heights, Sister Act, Shrek, Seussical, Beauty and the Beast. Proud Boston Conservatory alum! In addition to performing, Ariana is a private voice teacher and coach in NYC and offers lessons virtually! Duha Yeroz

Actor

Duha made her acting debut as Alvera in She Who Speaks.  She also played a train spirit in the chorus of Dream Train and Coral (a mermaid) in The Boat.  Duha loves to read, do flips and play with her sisters!

Elizabeth Grayson

Actor

Lizzy's roles with Imaginary Theater Company include Mama in Mama Threw Me So High, Granny in She Who Speaks and the leader of the chorus in Dream Train.  Professionally, Lizzy is an elementary school teacher.

 

Harmony Ali Bey

Actor

Harmony loves acting and baking.  She played a Wind in Canary Cockroach Phoenix and Anemone (a mermaid) in The Boat.  In 2020 she played Ariadne in our virtual performance of Canary Cockroach Phoenix.

John Unghire

Actor

For seven years, John has been teaching history in the Enfield Public Schools.  He played Robert in Imaginary Theater Company's production of The Boat.  Previous acting experience includes annual church Christmas plays and reenacting US History for middle school students.

Juliann Castelbuono

Actor

Juli studied traditional Irish Music and Dance at the University of Limerick in Ireland and has a Bachelor's of Arts in English with a concentration in British Romantic Poetry, specializing in Irish literature from the State University of New York at New Paltz.  She currently resides in New Haven and works as a freelance writer, musician, artist and tutor.  She played Zarya in Imaginary Theater Company's 2019 production of The Boat.

Kamaniya Ali Bey

Kami loves to act, sing and read.  Her favorite animal is a cat and she loves making new friends.  She played a Wind in Canary Cockroach Phoenix (original production and virtual performance) and Pearl the jellyfish in The Boat.

Kelley Knight

Actor

Kelley is an Actor & Writer and an alumni of the American Musical & Dramatic Academy of New York. Kelley discovered her love for acting at the age of 17 while embracing one of her first loves, singing. Since then, Kelley has acted professionally in a number of stage productions in and around New Haven and New York, including; an original play entitled, Deceit of Truth by Harvey Johnson and directed by Roneasha Bell, For Colored Girls, and The Vagina Monologues, which opened at Lyric Hall Theater in March 2012. Kelley has two beautiful twin daughters. She originated the role of Grandma Seraphina in Imaginary Theater Company's stage and virtual productions of Canary Cockroach Phoenix.

Libby Seidner

Musical accompaniment/Sound Design

Libby's Imaginary Theater Company credits include guitar accompaniment for Mama Threw Me So High and She Who Speaks as well as flute accompaniment and sound design for Dream Train and Canary Cockroach Phoenix.  Libby is a music teacher in Guilford.

Nicole Dankowski

Actor

Nicole's first adventure in acting was playing the Advisor to the Mayors in Dream Train.  In her free time, Nicole can be found petting cats, thinking about petting cats, or hiking.  She is looking forward to more acting escapades in the future.

Tim Smith

Actor

Tim's Imaginary Theater Company credits include Paul in Mama Threw Me So High, Voice in She Who Speaks, Ezra in Dream Train and Father in Canary Cockroach Phoenix.  Tim recently went back to school to become a librarian which he loves and spends his free time playing the Pokemon Trading Card Game.

Tracine Allen

Actor

Tracine made her acting debut as a train spirit in the chorus of Dream Train!  She also originated the role of Ariadne in Canary Cockroach Phoenix.  She loves to sing, read and play with her friends.  Her favorite color is every color in the rainbow!

Ziani Boone

Actor

"Ziani means energy and I have a lot of that!"  Ziani played Rose in  Mama Threw Me So High, Honor in Dream Train, Casandra in Canary Cockroach Phoenix (original and virtual productions) and Zale the jellyfish in The Boat.  She is a competitive Tap dancer who enjoys reading, photography and writing poetry.
